Cleveland Ballet to perform tribute for 2 sisters who died
CLEVELAND, Ohio - Cleveland Ballet is planning to live-stream a tribute performance for two of its former students who died tragically in June.
The performance will be given for patients of University Hospitals Rainbow Babies and Children's Hospital and will be available via UH Rainbow Babies Facebook page noon Friday, July 24.
Dancers will perform excerpts from artistic director Gladisa Guadalupe's rendition of "The Nutcracker" and "The Magic Flute" in the UH Cleveland Medical Center Atrium, 2101 Adelbert Road.
The 13 dancers will wear masks that match their costumes.
Scout Scaravilli, 14, and her sister Chasey, 12, were School of Cleveland Ballet students.
Police said they believe the girls were killed after a brick pillar collapsed as they lay in a hammock at their Cleveland Heights home. The sisters attended The Hathaway Brown School in Shaker Heights.
