Les Sylphides – presented by Cleveland Ballet
Cleveland Ballet, led by Puerto Rican born Artistic Director, Gladisa Guadalupe, will support an Emergency Effort to provide relief to the children in Puerto Rico.
Cleveland Ballet will donate 5% from the tickets sale of matinee performance of Les Sylphides (October 14th, 1pm performance).
Les Sylphides is a non-narrative ballet with original choreography by Michael Fokine and music by Frédéric Chopin. The half-hour ballet often described as a ‘romantic reverie’, is about sylphs dancing in the moonlight with a poet will be performed by pianist Ralista Georgieva-Smith. Russian born ballerina, Aygul Abougalieva, will stage the ballet.
Collage of Sinatra Songs-Some of the most recognized Frank Sinatra songs get a different twist as dancers execute Guadalupe’s interpretation of one of the most popular and influential singers of the 20th century.
Johann Sebastian Bach’s Piano Concerto No. 1 in D minor will serve as a canvas for world premiere choreography by Gladisa Guadalupe. Pianists Ralista Georgieva-Smith and Sophia Van Der Westhuizen will perform Concerto.

Children under two years old are generally not permitted in the theaters. However, everyone regardless of age must have a ticket. All children must be seated with an adult. Any person disrupting a performance or inhibiting the enjoyment of an event for guests may be removed from the theater without refund.
